As a hostess you receive visitors and help with the start of the visit. You are a source of information in the reception area of our Castle.Detailed description
De Haar Castle is the largest and most luxurious castle in the Netherlands. A visit to Kasteel de Haar takes the visitor back to the heyday of the castle and its inhabitants. During a stay one gets an idea of the enormous wealth in which the international jet set lived at the beginning of the 20th century. The visitors experience the un-Dutch opulence in which the residents and their guests live in the month of September.
We are looking for enthusiastic: Hostesses or hosts for the weekend who want to join our volunteer team!
We are looking for people who enjoy carrying out all kinds of activities for the benefit of tourism at the castle. This includes receiving visitors in the waiting area, supporting visitors at the start of their visit and providing them with further information.
What we ask of you:
- You are very customer-friendly and hospitable.
- You are representative and service-oriented.
- Some experience in hosting groups is a plus.
- You are stress resistant.
- You are communicative.
- You can work well together.
- You are in good physical condition.
- You have a good command of the Dutch and English language. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

About Kasteel de Haar
De Haar Castle was rebuilt about a hundred years ago on the remains of a medieval castle. The castle looks medieval, but for the past century it functioned as a very fashionable and representative house for the Van Zuylen family, who occupy it for 1 month a year. Until the year 2000, the Van Zuylen family was private owner, since then it has been housed in the Kasteel de Haar Foundation, which has set itself the objective of preserving the castle and the interior in good condition and opening it to the public through exploitation.
Kaseel de Haar annually organizes a large number of public events, such as the Elf Fantasy Fair and the Christmas Fair. There are regular themed tours, concerts, children's events and family days. The castle also makes rooms available for weddings, receptions or dinners.
There are about 25 permanent employees and more than 200 volunteers. There are volunteers who show around, assist in the garden or castle shop or support the technical staff.
A very nice inspiring workplace combined with a lot of fun!
