We are looking for a studio assistant for our art and culture subjects.

Leidsche Rijn College

Leidsche Rijn College is a public school for havo, atheneum and gymnasium and currently has about 1700 students. It is a talent development school. Pupils are challenged to discover and develop their talent (eg in drama, writing or debate) with the help of special programs. As a young top athlete at the LRC you can also work on your sports career and obtain your diploma. As did, for example, athlete and world champion Dafne Schippers. Because of our extensive culture, talent and outdoor education programs, we are often short of hands. This is why we regularly call on our volunteers. If you have time and would like to come and strengthen the school as a volunteer, we would greatly appreciate it.

Job Description

The studio assistant has contact with students, teachers and educational support staff. During the art and culture lessons (the visual subjects) in our studios, the assistant has a supporting role. In addition, he/she also helps during special theme weeks and events such as film weeks, animation projects, theater projects, etc.

Specifically, this means:

• during the lessons but also outside of it – during special 'studio hours' – you are a point of contact for students who are finishing their art projects: you answer questions, give them the right materials to work with and possibly. directions on how to use tools.
• you prepare the studios for class;
• you ensure that stocks (paint, glue, paper, etc.) and tools (saws, brushes, etc.) are in order;
• You help to keep the studios and materials clean
• (optional) you go on an excursion as a guide, such as a visit to a museum.
