Hero of Humanity Tutors

Hero of Humanity is an information program in which young people are interactively stimulated to reflect on their own behavior during (emergency) situations. There are two simulation videos where students can indicate on their mobile whether they would help or not. As a result of the videos, students discuss the choices they make with each other. The simulation films and subsequent discussions are interspersed with portraits of young Red Cross volunteers who are committed to helping others worldwide.

Hero of Humanity Facilitators – Voluntary

For +/- 10 times a year, with a different activity about 4 times a year.

What are you going to do

As a supervisor, you encourage young people from senior secondary vocational education or secondary education to talk to each other. You do this on the basis of various dilemmas and portraits from the films. You let the students think about their own behaviour, willingness to act, ability to act and different perspectives to act in an emergency. You can always do something!

What are you bringing?

• You enjoy starting a discussion and guiding it in the right direction
• You want to make an active effort to bring willingness to help to the attention of young people;
• You enjoy working with young people and like to stand in front of a group
• You are preferably between 18 and 45 years old
• Preparing the guest lectures or information activities
• Giving at least 10 guest lessons per year during school hours
• Following the necessary training before providing guest lessons
• You have your first aid diploma or are willing to get it
• You live in the region/province of Utrecht
• You stand behind the basic principles of the Red Cross.

You will also receive guidance and professional support. You will of course receive a travel and expense allowance and you will be additionally insured when you work for the Red Cross.
