What are you going to do?

Within the SIW team Broadcasts love you, as coordinator schools projects in collaboration with the marketing and communications team working actively approaching middle schools, secondary vocational schools, technical colleges, universities and student associations in the Netherlands to participate in a volunteer project abroad to make possible. With the support of the office coordinator, an office employee, regional specialists and the marketing & communication team, you respond to the demand for social learning projects and internships for groups as well as individual students or pupils. In collaboration with an international SIW partner organization and the Deployments team, you prepare a tailor-made offer for an internship or study project.

Who are we?

SIW International Volunteer Projects is a versatile Dutch non-profit exchange organization (NGO). For more than 65 years, SIW has been sending Dutch volunteers to projects all over the world and has received international volunteers on various projects in the Netherlands. In total, this concerns approximately 250 broadcasts and receptions per year. SIW is part of three international networks: Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations, CCIVS International Voluntary Service and Service Civil International (SCI).

SIW's mission is to encourage people to broaden their horizons. SIW does this by bringing volunteers into contact with other cultures. In this way, SIW wants to increase intercultural understanding, contribute to the personal development of volunteers and encourage them to dedicate themselves to a better society.

The activities of SIW are organized by approximately 70 enthusiastic voluntary employees, supported by an office in the heart of Utrecht.

What do your activities look like?

 

- Selecting target groups relevant to SIW within educational institutions such as secondary schools, universities, colleges, MBO institutions and (study) associations;

- Selecting the right contact persons, such as deans, internship and study counselors or chairmen of associations;

- In collaboration with Marketing, make contact with the schools, institutions, 'international offices' and contact persons that have shown interest in a SIW volunteer project;

- In collaboration with Marketing, bring to the attention of educational institutions international school projects in groups and individually, and subsidized projects such as the European Solidarity Corps;

- Make a tailor-made offer for a group project for an educational institution in collaboration with the office coordinator or regional specialist;

- Mapping the range of possible school projects and project organizations

- Referring individual interested parties to the regional specialist or office coordinator;

- Setting up and maintaining contacts in a (school) tracking system in Excel;

- Coordinate the presence of SIW on information days and fairs.


Who are you?

· You are enthusiastic about the projects, objectives and mission of SIW;

· You have experience with project management. You can organize well and you like to monitor the overview and cooperation and to motivate people;

· You are decisive, analytical, a team player and customer-oriented;

  • You have good communication skills (also in English);

· You are willing to set aside approximately 4 hours a week for SIW;

· In collaboration with Marketing, you also help to bring more attention to the target groups, for example via social media, on information days/evenings or at trade fairs, you know how to respond to trends around the target group and voluntary work;

· You are handy with Word and Excel;

· You have the intention to commit yourself to this position for at least one year;

· You preferably live in the Utrecht area;

· Young people and people with a multicultural background and/or involved in the education of young people are explicitly invited to apply in order to form as diverse a team as possible.
