Social Legal Volunteer at STIL

We are looking for volunteers who want to join our social legal team for a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 20 hours a week.

Are you looking for volunteer work with substance and responsibility, in which you can develop yourself both personally and professionally and gain valuable experience? Then this position is definitely for you!

You conduct intake interviews with people who come to STIL with questions about reception and/or their legal situation and you follow up on this by arranging reception, giving (legal) advice or referring people to agencies that can help them.

In addition, you guide your own clients, supported by our team and in particular the Social Legal Coordinator. This may concern short-term support for a specific question, or long-term integral support (legal, social and medical). The guidance includes:

• file search
• working on residence law (building file, providing evidence)
• maintain contact with lawyers
• find shelter
• guiding from and to various authorities
• social support

Job requirements

• HBO or WO level
• Affinity with the target group
• Independent and integer
• Communicative and social
• Good Dutch and English language skills are required, knowledge of the French language is desirable

Experience is not necessary, passion is .

As a Social Legal Volunteer you have a lot of responsibility. Because you learn the work best by doing it, we prefer someone who wants to remain a volunteer for a longer period (minimum 9 months). On the other hand, you gain very valuable experience under the guidance of an experienced and driven group of people.
