Bullying can occur anywhere, in large or small groups. Every volunteer organization hopes that this will not be the case with them. Prevention is important to minimize the risk of bullying within an organization. Bullying does not only have consequences for the victim, but also for the group and ultimately for the organization. Bullying cannot be prevented or remedied without action.
In an existing bullying group, bullying patterns seem difficult to break. Sometimes that's true. And ignoring bullying can be deadly. A bullied person can continue to suffer from it for the rest of his life. And although it is sometimes difficult, something can very well be done about it. This workshop provides background information on bullying and teasing. How do you prevent bullying in a new group? And it contains tools for turning a bullying group into a teasing group.
After the workshop you will have:
- experience that attentiveness is necessary to stop bullying in groups;
- learned to recognize the difference between bullying and teasing;
- knowledge about the different roles of the system.
This workshop is offered by YMCA Youth Work. They are part of YMCA Netherlands and are the oldest youth organization in our country. They offer children, teenagers and young people a place where they feel at home and can feel at home
develop. They do this, among other things, by supporting volunteers with coaching and training aimed at many parts of youth work such as social safety, children's work/teenage work, etc.
