Summary
Do you make sure someone does the shopping? Then you make the difference for your neighbors in Vleuten-De Meern and Haarzuilens.Detailed description
For our shopping service we are looking for a volunteer in the role of coordinator. As a coordinator, you are the link between the request for help and the offer of help: a local resident needs someone to do the shopping for her or him and you ensure that someone from your team does this. For this you often first visit the local resident and then estimate which volunteer best suits this resident.
The grocery service currently employs 20 volunteers who, on average, run errands once a week, sometimes once every two weeks for local residents who are unable to do so themselves. For example, because they cannot walk properly or are ill. These volunteers are supervised by two coordinators, who make the 'match' between the person requesting help and the help provider (a local resident who has registered as a volunteer).
As a coordinator you guide and support these volunteers. You keep track of who works with whom on the computer. If there is a need for new volunteers, you signal this in time so that your colleagues in the communication team can help you. In any case, you can call on your fellow coordinators if you need it.
Below you can read what Annemarie, the coordinator who is leaving, says about her volunteer work:
“It is very nice and varied, and also rewarding work. You really make a difference. Occasionally you visit a client as soon as a new request comes in. Sometimes you have an intake interview with new volunteers. You try to make the best possible match between client and volunteer. And you keep all data in files on google drive, for which you are well trained. A number of times a year there is a meeting with the other coordinators in the WIL core team in your neighbourhood. It will take an average of 2 hours per week, sometimes a little more if it is suddenly very busy. In any case, I will stay for another 3 months to possibly train someone.”
Contact us and we will ensure that we respond quickly. Because we are eager to get to know you.

About WIL | Buren voor Buren
The objective of WIL is to promote neighborly help in the neighborhood and to provide the neighborhood with information in the field of informal care and welfare in the immediate living environment. We therefore offer neighborly assistance and we make all information about care and welfare accessible (findable) to everyone.
The neighbors help teams are divided between the groceries help, the handyman help, the transport help and a general emergency service. Via these four emergency services, more than 100 enthusiastic volunteers offer concrete neighborly help to residents of the neighborhood who cannot rely on informal care themselves and for whom professional help is too expensive.
But WIL does more: the telephone team, the location team and the communication team are constantly working to map out all help, all hobby clubs, all activities, from private individuals to organizations and to make them accessible to the residents of our neighborhood. So that anyone who needs help can find what they are looking for.
