Volunteer for our store

The Bartholomeus Gasthuis is a modern guest house for the elderly, located in the Utrecht Museum Quarter. Approximately 100 residents live in the guest house and approximately 150 employees and just as many volunteers work.

For our Food & Catering department we are looking for a volunteer in our store.

We are looking for someone who likes to help our aging customers with their daily shopping in our store. As a volunteer you support, help customers if necessary with making the choice, the checkout and you also make time for a chat. You are also responsible for replenishing the products and operating the cash register.

The shop is open daily from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm (except Sundays and public holidays).

Desired profile

· You have affinity and experience with the elderly (sometimes with early dementia).

· You speak good/clear Dutch.

· You are patient and can work accurately and neatly.

· You are friendly/hospitable and have a representative appearance.

· You like to support our residents (if necessary) in doing their shopping.

· You can operate a cash register and ensure correct cash payment.

· You keep your agreements; we can count on you.

· You are able and willing to keep the store in order so that it looks neat and clean.

· You are available every week or once every 14 days.

· You can and want to volunteer with our organization for a longer period of time (min. one year).

· You will be trained and substantively supervised by the store coordinator or one of the other (experienced) volunteers.

· Once a year a festive gathering with dinner for all volunteers.
