Board member COSBO

COSBO-Stad-Utrecht, the advocate for the elderly in the municipality of Utrecht, is looking for an unpaid BOARD MEMBER with a broad social interest, who, together with the other board members, manages the foundation from a distance.

The board determines the strategy and the annual plan and helps to promote cooperation with other social organizations in the city.

Organization COSBO was founded in 1975 by local branches of the senior citizens' associations ANBO, KBO and PCOB. COSBO city of Utrecht has been operating independently since 2016. It goes without saying that good contacts are maintained with the various member organizations for the elderly; as well as with organizations for special target groups such as migrants, LGBTI + and disabled people. Current themes are housing & welfare, care, finances and information provision to all elderly people regardless of digital skills. We work closely with various partners in the city.

COSBO has an office with four (2Fte) professionals, including a director, who all work part-time. They are supported by 20-30 active volunteers with whom we maintain good contacts. The financing of COSBO largely depends on municipal subsidies

Profile

You are able to quickly familiarize yourself with the social domain, themes that are important to the elderly and the political playing field; then some experience with this is an advantage. You live in the municipality of Utrecht and are preferably part of the target group for which COSBO works. It is an advantage if you have experience as a board member in another foundation.

The board meets about 6 times a year; in addition, there are a few meetings every year with volunteers and office staff.

Our board members and volunteers do not receive any compensation; any expenses can be reimbursed. It goes without saying that we adhere to the RIVM guidelines and therefore meet online as much as possible.

If a first acquaintance is positively experienced on both sides, it is possible to participate in the board for a while as a guest. Subsequently, it can be decided to actually join the board or not to do so.
