What are you going to do?
You supervise participants of the Open Atelier Maliegilde together with the activity coordinator. You are creative with a group of participants. Think of drawing, painting, making jewelry or printing T-shirts. It is desirable if you can do one of these activities well enough yourself to help others. We are also open to your creative ideas!
Who are we looking for?
You are creative yourself and can support/guide people in offering activities. Your contribution and presence ensures continuity and a pleasant working atmosphere in which the participants can work well. We are looking for a volunteer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9.30-12.00.

About Open Atelier en sociale metaalwerkplaats Maliegilde | Wij3.0
In the creative field you can participate in the Open Atelier Maliegilde in, among other things: painting, printing T-shirts and mosaic. You can learn to work with stained glass, make jewelry, crochet and knit. We are also a social metal workshop where welding training is given for people at a distance from the labor market.
In the studio we are open to everyone from the city of Utrecht! You can participate in our creative activities in the Open Atelier for free and without obligation. Only material costs should be reimbursed. We are open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The activities offered in the studio differ per day.
Printing T-shirts
With us you can print a drawing, image, text or your own design on your T-shirt or a linen bag. We work with flexible foil and cutting plotter (making a template, cutting out and applying). Do you prefer to work with rhinestones? That is also possible! Guidance is available to familiarize you with the techniques.
Painting & amp; To draw
During painting and drawing, experiments are done with different materials, colors and shapes. You learn (basic) techniques and attention is paid to, among other things: perspective, drawing nature, drawing still life and portrait. Guidance is available from our painters.
Stained glass
With glass and lead you can learn to cut and solder shapes from (colored) glass, there is also room for Tiffany technique. You will be guided by experienced volunteers.
Breathing new life into everyday objects? That is possible with mosaic! Under supervision you will learn how objects can be embellished with shards of tiles, glass, porcelain, pebbles, etc. You will learn, among other things, how to transfer a design to the object, lay the neat mosaic and finally the beautiful finishing of a workpiece.
Eat & amp; Meat
Every Wednesday evening from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm you can come together at the Maliegilde to cook, eat and do odd jobs with metal, paint or glass. The cost for the food is 2 euros. You can sign up for this at Rogier.
Decorating crockery
Recently you can learn with us to pimp up a tableware, for example. You paint the tableware with glaze, then it is baked in a ceramic oven for a beautiful lasting result. You can also do glass etching with us.
The metal workshop
The MIG / MAG welding level 1 training is given at the metal workshop. We provide training for people with personal problems that prevent them from directly working with a regular employer. We guide people to paid work in welding.
