Function: Student coordinator

Do you want to develop your skills in coordination, coaching and leadership? And do you want to contribute to a more social and inclusive world at the same time? As a student coordinator at the senior & student foundation, you manage a team of student volunteers who provide social care to seniors.

What does the senior & student foundation do?

The senior & student foundation is all about 'social care'. Within our community, we connect students with seniors for help and companionship. The aim is for students to help seniors to increase their self-reliance and social network. We have already brought together more than 1000 couples and in these corona times, the fight against loneliness has only become more important. That is why we want to link even more seniors and students and we can use your help!

What is a student coordinator?

As a student coordinator, you manage a team of student volunteers in your region. You coach students who are linked to a senior in achieving their goals. You will also be involved in recruiting and selecting students and seniors, so that we can make even more matches. You also have intensive contact with the team of the senior & student foundation. You are the bridge between the head office and your local student team.

What are you going to do:

- Recruit students and seniors in your region;

- Conduct intake interviews with students who want to work as a volunteer;

- Coach and guide the students from your team in achieving their goals and offer help with questions;

- Organize group outings for the couples from your region;

- Administrative tasks, keeping an overview, planning and coordination.

Should you be able to do all this?

Absolutely not! This is precisely the opportunity to further develop yourself in these areas. You follow an intensive learning process and are supervised by a team of professionals. In this way, you simultaneously work on a good cause and strengthen your skills in leadership, coaching and coordination. Good for the world, yourself and your resume :)

- A training course in which you discover and further develop your leadership qualities;

- Gain six months of experience in thinking along and learning about the work structures and strategy of a social organization;

- Volunteer allowance of 180 euros per month.

What we ask:

- Availability of at least six months and at least 8 hours per week;

- You are social, have good communication skills and like personal contact;

- You study and / or live in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam or Utrecht;

- You are proactive, you have a great sense of responsibility and you want to help with the mission of the senior & student foundation;

- You want to grow personally in the field of coaching, recruitment and selection, community building and team activities;

- Experience as a volunteer at the senior & student foundation or with one of our projects is an advantage but not a requirement.
