Coordinator Language & Future

Do you want to contribute to the participation of multilingual young people in Utrecht in an active and entrepreneurial organization? We are looking for a voluntary coordinator Language & Future.

What is Language & Future?

Taal Doet Meer, in collaboration with Het Begint met Taal, offers a counseling program for young people between 16-25 years of age when taking the step to training, internship or work. Voluntary coaches work with young people to develop language and communication skills, empowerment and expanding the network. The aim of the project is to increase the chances of foreign-speaking young people on the labor market.

What do you do as a Language & Future coordinator?

As a coordinator you coach and guide a group of 8 Language & Future coaches. You organize the introduction between the coaches and the participants. From that moment on, you are the first point of contact for the coaches. They will first contact you with questions about guidance. You also organize a meeting once every two months for your group of coaches, so that they can exchange experiences and learn from each other. At the end of the process, you ensure a good connection between the coach and the participant. As a coordinator you are the linchpin in the organization. You will be supported in your work by a project leader from Taal Doet Meer. Difficult cases are always discussed together, and every month there is a work meeting, intervision and / or workshop with the youth coordinators.

Profile

You have an affinity with young people, language and cultures and you are good at involving people. You are open and communicative, have a higher vocational education level of work and thinking and you have organizational talent You are eager to learn, willing to follow training courses, work independently and are reliable: if you give your commitment, you will stay. You are flexible within the agreements and you persevere when things go against the grain.

Tasks

• Coaching: You coach and guide a group of about 8 volunteers. You are the point of contact for them, you conduct conversations such as linking discussions, you help formulate learning objectives and refer if necessary.
• Coordination: You organize meetings, take care of process control, internal and external coordination
• Administration: You keep track of the progress of volunteers and participants in our registration system.

Employability

You are willing to commit for at least 1 year, you are available (flexibly) for about 4 hours a week and you know your way around the city of Utrecht.
