Vacancy Chairman community center De Nieuwe Jutter Foundation (Voluntary)

Stichting De Nieuwe Jutter is the organization that facilitates a dynamic community center in Rivierenwijk Utrecht. The community center is a forerunner in the concept of self-managed accommodations.

The community center hosts many activities from and by the neighbourhood. The De Nieuwe Jutter Foundation works with a voluntary board that bears ultimate responsibility for a number of matters. We do this in close collaboration with volunteers who take care of the day-to-day business.

The board is looking for a chairman of the foundation with effect from September 2021. The duties of this chairman include:

• Preparing the content of board meetings (7 times a year);
• Lead meetings and ensure clear and proactive decision-making;
• Maintaining external contacts at neighborhood and city level, including various contacts with the municipality;
• Translating social developments and trends into opportunities that strengthen self-management;
• Drawing up an activity plan and subsidy application together with the board, adjusting and accounting for subsidy;
• Supervise the maintenance and quality of “the intent of self-management” the necessary facilities;

You are chairman of a diverse, enthusiastic and pragmatic board in which the use of your own talents, humor and cooperation are central. The board has a policy-making role aimed at strengthening self-management. Each board member has his or her own portfolio that he or she organizes independently. We meet 7 times a year and in between we have contact about current affairs.

We are looking for someone who has some managerial or managerial experience. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of residents' initiatives and buildings under self-management.
