Application handler(s)

We help pets of people in the minimum income when unforeseen medical situations arise. We do this by contributing to veterinary costs that would otherwise be impossible to pay. Pets and the people who love their animals suffer differently.

In order to be able to help more sick and/or injured pets of people in the minimum income, we are looking for enthusiastic and committed application handlers. Your commitment in this role makes the difference in an uncertain situation.

In this function

• Are you (jointly) responsible for the processing and settlement of requests for assistance. Of course you do this in all discretion.
• Make contact with applicants, administrators, budget coaches, food banks and/or other agencies to map the financial capacity of a pet owner.
• Do you have contact with veterinarians, other foundations and/or funds and do you manage requests for help from A to Z thanks to your communication skills and involvement?

You are the perfect animal lover if you

• Hands itch to help sick and/or injured pets and owners in a minimum situation.
• Are both empathetic and customer-oriented and speak and write Dutch well.
• Can deal with sometimes strong emotions of pet owners in a difficult situation.
• Have experience with email systems and working with Google Drive or are willing to learn.
• Has an internet connection and a computer to open and work with files and emails.

Good to know

• Experience and/or knowledge of systems is nice, but involvement, enthusiasm and reliability are more important to us.
• You work together in a team that is involved and ready for each other.
• You are supported by the volunteer coordinator and can consult with your colleague application handler(s) and the volunteer coordinator if you have any questions.
• You can organize your own time. You perform the tasks that you perform at home.
• You can participate in interesting training/courses.
• We are welcome as a team at the National Animal Aid Meeting twice a year. That is a pleasant, enriching and educational day where animal rescuers meet.
• We aim to meet once a month for consultation, usually in the Utrecht region (Due to the COVID-19 measures, this is digitally via Microsoft Teams for the time being).
