Surroundings

The Utrecht Library is for everyone. You can count on us for your personal development for the rest of your life. You can read, learn and inform yourself with us. We encourage you to get acquainted with literature, culture and society. Utrecht is a city full of diversity, culture, stories and science. The Library organizes activities ranging from lectures, debates and courses for adults to performances, treasure hunts and workshops for children.

The purpose of activities in the Library.

The Library is for all Utrecht residents. The range of activities is in line with this and we strive for the most diverse programming possible that is in line with the social issues of that moment. We provide a stage for new faces to grow and learn.

Activities for adults

You are the welcome face and point of contact for our debates, performances and lectures. You receive the visitors and show them the way to the room, check the tickets, and make them feel at ease. During the break you accompany the group during the drink and ensure that everyone is back in the room on time. Of course you also attend the lecture or performance yourself. Afterwards, you accompany the guests to the exit and make sure that the room looks neat again.

Who are you?

• You are social, open and not afraid to move in a group.
• You are at least 18 years old.
• You speak Dutch and/or English well.
• You have a broad interest in the library's range of activities.
• You are representative and everyone feels welcome with you.

Time investment and availability.

• You are available at least two days/evenings per month. The activities mainly take place in the evenings and weekends. We are looking for volunteers with availability on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
• You can be linked to an activity/program that you like and be committed to it or opt for flexibility.
• You want to be part of our team for (at least) six months.
• You will participate in an introduction evening on August 18 in Neude , where you will be given a tour and get to know your colleagues and fellow volunteers.
