Do you like pets and do you like to do something for the elderly or chronically ill fellow human beings? Then Dierenbuddy is for you.

The Animal Protection Region Northwest is looking for: supporters for the elderly or chronically ill with pets. Volunteers from Dierenbescherming help the elderly / chronically ill, who own a pet, to take care of their animal if the owner is no longer fully able to do so. It is very rewarding work, but it is not always easy. As a volunteer you have, in addition to the care, an important signaling role whether the animal and the elderly are still doing well. As a volunteer you have to know how to deal with the elderly and their, often old, animals. Many of our clients live in care homes in the city of Utrecht, but elderly/chronically ill living independently also call on our help.

Are you available for at least 3 hours a week?

We are looking for people who have an affinity with pets, have experience in dealing with the elderly, have a stable personality, are sober, proactive, patient and reliable, have life experience, keep to agreements punctually and act as an animal buddy for a longer period of time (at least half a year). want to bet. You have good social and communication skills. Active participation in general meetings and theme evenings is expected. You want to commit yourself for a longer period (at least six months). We expect you to be available about half a day a week to visit one or a few elderly/chronically ill patients and their pets at home. You do not always have to keep the same part of the day off because we work with a roster. It is therefore useful if you live in Utrecht or in the immediate vicinity.
