Voluntary Coordinator Friendly Home Visit

Do you want to mean something to people who feel alone? Then we are looking for you!

Humanitas is the volunteer organization in Utrecht for people who can temporarily use a helping hand. We make the difference by connecting people with people, without making a distinction in origin, religion or culture. Volunteers give someone temporary support (about a year) and provide tools with which the participant can tackle his own problems. Each project has a team of coordinators who are passionate about making good connections and guiding participants and volunteers.

We are looking for a coordinator for our Friendly Home Visit project.

Friendly Home Visit

Friendly Home Visit is for Utrecht residents who feel lonely. We establish contact between two people. Someone who feels lonely and a volunteer who wants to support the other. They are each other's buddy. The volunteer comes by for a chat, a cup of coffee or to go out together, but also to take small steps together that ensure that the loneliness is broken and the participant gets more pleasure in life.

Activities of the coordinator:

● Conduct introductory conversations with participants and volunteers

● Linking volunteers to participants and guiding these links

● Organizing intervision meetings for volunteers

● Work consultation with the co-coordinators

Due to corona, meeting, calling and computer work is currently taking place digitally. Conversations with volunteers or participants can take place live if necessary.

Do you recognize yourself in this?

● Socially involved

● Good communication and organizational skills

● Able to work independently and in a team

● Available for 6 to 8 hours a week for at least one year
