Detailed description

Every year, more than 300,000 visitors marvel at the green splendor around Castle de Haar. Our garden volunteers ensure that the style gardens and park forest look perfect and remain well maintained. In this way we ensure that this unique piece of green is preserved for generations to come.

Activities

  • The number of garden volunteers has a fixed task based on his expertise, agreed with the head park and gardens.

The garden volunteer provides assistance with maintenance work in the park and gardens. This is done in a group and under the supervision of an experienced employee. About Kasteel de Haar

De Haar Castle was rebuilt about a hundred years ago on the remains of a medieval castle. The castle looks medieval, but for the past century it functioned as a very fashionable and representative house for the Van Zuylen family, who occupy it for 1 month a year. Until the year 2000, the Van Zuylen family was private owner, since then it has been housed in the Kasteel de Haar Foundation, which has set itself the objective of preserving the castle and the interior in good condition and opening it to the public through exploitation.

Kaseel de Haar annually organizes a large number of public events, such as the Elf Fantasy Fair and the Christmas Fair. There are regular themed tours, concerts, children's events and family days. The castle also makes rooms available for weddings, receptions or dinners.

There are about 25 permanent employees and more than 200 volunteers. There are volunteers who show around, assist in the garden or castle shop or support the technical staff.

A very nice inspiring workplace combined with a lot of fun!
