Volunteers for typing audio files into text.

The Volksbuurtmuseum is working on a project in which residents of Utrecht working-class neighborhoods are being interviewed. In these lively conversations, Utrecht residents from different cultural backgrounds talk about their lives, the neighborhood and the way in which they live their lives. The interviews take about one and a half to two hours and the typing of an interview takes about ten to twelve hours.

In the future we want to bring these conversations out through a book, documentary and exhibition. In order to achieve this, the interviews must be converted into text and that is why we are looking for volunteers who want to contribute to this.

Task description: Typing audio files into text (transcription).

In order to be able to perform the work properly, it is important that you have the following competencies:

• Digitally skilled
• Knowledge of MS Word
• Be accurate when writing out text
• Available via email

For each interview that is typed out, a volunteer fee of € 37.50 is paid.
