Coordinating District Volunteers

The Red Cross is regularly approached for acute extra or special support. Think, for example, of the clothing coordination for Afghan refugees at the reception center in Zeist and the ad hoc support of general practitioners during vaccination rounds. But also around our event assistance, situations can sometimes suddenly arise in which extra or special support is desperately needed. If the local Red Cross locations themselves are unable to schedule any or insufficient volunteers for these special deployments, Red Crossers throughout the District will be approached directly.

The Red Cross Gooi & Utrecht is looking for 3 Coordinating District Volunteers to ensure that the coordination, planning and management of all these volunteers in those acute extra or special deployments run smoothly.

Note: In this position you mainly deal with acute situations and requests for help. So you only take action when necessary.

Your three most important tasks?

• You look for and contact the necessary extra volunteers in the entire district and you take care of the deployment letters and other communication
• You plan and coordinate the extra deployments and process them in the various (planning) tools
• You regularly visit the deployment location(s), evaluate the progress of the support, identify what (extra) is needed and make timely adjustments.

Given the acute nature, an estimate of hours per week cannot be made; it depends on demand and moment. In acute extra or special requests for help, you always work together with the responsible professional.

• You are organizationally very strong, you keep an overview of the total picture and you are decisive in your actions
