Summary

Do you have a fascination for cultures and would you like to contribute to a better society?
Do you want to contribute to the further professionalization of SIW vi

Detailed description

Who are we?

SIW is a versatile Dutch non-profit exchange organization (NGO). For 65 years, SIW has been receiving foreign volunteers on various projects in the Netherlands and Dutch volunteers have been sent to projects all over the world. In total, this concerns approximately 250 broadcasts and receptions per year. SIW falls under three international networks (Alliance, CCIVS and SCI).

SIW's mission is to encourage people to broaden their horizons. SIW does this by bringing volunteers into contact with other cultures. In this way, SIW wants to increase intercultural understanding, contribute to the personal development of volunteers and encourage them to dedicate themselves to a better society “For and by volunteers”.

The activities of SIW are organized by approximately 70 enthusiastic voluntary employees, supported by an office in the heart of Utrecht.

What are you going to do?

As part of the Erasmus+ Program (EU), SIW provides training to employees of youth organizations within our international network. Participants come from 8-10 different organizations from different countries. The 20-25 participants per training mainly come from the group of 20-35 year olds.

As an Erasmus+ Training Employee you support the trainers in the organization, administration and logistics of the training, more specifically:

· Communication with the participants: answer questions, send communication from the trainers to the participants, discuss complex questions with trainers;

· Administration: eg drafting visa letters, collecting and maintaining participant data (eg arrival/departure of the participants and registration of assignments from the trainers);

· During a physical training project in NL: support in the organization of the training: e.g. organizing coffee breaks, lunches, dinners (cooking enthusiasts are more than welcome too!), preparing and organizing all kinds of practical matters, practical (not answer substantive questions from participants, collect travel documents from the participants for the travel allowance, etc.;

· Afterwards: complete travel allowance, coordinate payments with the SIW treasurer, communication with the participants and reporting/completion of the project.

Of course you are not alone, you work closely with the trainers and other employees within SIW.

Who are you?

· You are enthusiastic about the projects, objectives and mission of SIW;

· You like to administer and organize; you work accurately and you are someone who can keep the administration under control;

· You like to work independently on an administration, but you also enjoy working with young people (both by e-mail and during the training sessions);

You identify potential problems quickly and discuss them with the trainers in a solution-oriented manner;

· You have good communication skills (also in English);

· You are flexible, creative, and enthusiastic;

· You are available on average 8 hours a week (preferably flexibly spread over the week), during which there are peak moments in the preparation and implementation of the projects;

· You can and want to be present (as much as possible) full-time during the projects for 4-6 days; the training sessions for 2021 are now scheduled from 29-08 to 04-09, from 10-10 to 15-10 and from 19-10 to 24-10; more projects are expected in 2022;

· People with a multicultural background are expressly invited to apply.

What do we offer you?

· A nice organization with many enthusiastic people with a passion for volunteering, with the world as the playing surface;

· Gain experience in project implementation;

· An international working environment and network;

· Especially during the training: a positive, international, energetic environment, where you can also actively and creatively contribute ideas;

· Possibility to do this together with a second person, to divide projects and time;

· The (travel) costs incurred are reimbursed as well as accommodation and meals during the project, as well as a discount on an international volunteer project through SIW.
