Lyricist (6-8 hours per week)

STIL is a solidarity organization for people without a residence permit. For almost 20 years we have been helping undocumented migrants in the Netherlands on a legal, medical and social level. We offer most people first line help (short advice, referral) during one of our consultation hours. Some of them qualify for more intensive, second-line guidance.

STIL is looking for an enthusiastic and socially skilled copywriter for a new housing project and public campaign.

STIL will start a public campaign in April 2017 to raise awareness about the unsustainability of the Dublin Regulation. This campaign is linked to a housing project to simultaneously provide a practical, humanitarian solution for the people who survive on the streets without facilities under this ordinance.

You will work in consultation with the project leader on setting up a series of articles that will be used to support the campaign. The campaign will be a stand-alone platform with plenty of room for your own input. In practice, it will mean going out with a photographer to speak to people who are (or have been) victims of the Dublin ordinance and write pieces about their stories.

Social skills are of great importance in the performance of the job. We think it is important that people feel comfortable while sharing their story and you play a major role in this.

• You have experience with writing and / or editing;
• You have a perfect command of the Dutch language in word and writing;
• You work systematically and in a structured way;
• You are flexible and can handle deadlines;
• You have a proactive work attitude;
• You have an affinity with STIL's work and target group in general and this project in particular.
