City hospice Utrecht is looking for drivers
for the newly established friends foundation
In addition to the own contribution from guests of the City Hospice and the people who receive support at home, and the subsidies that the City Hospice receives, it is not possible to complete the budget completely. Extra income is desirable for taking over the personal contribution from people who do not have the means for this, and to be able to absorb other income that is declining.
Goal of the Friends Foundation:
- Material support of Stadshospice Utrecht, and the replenishment of possible exploration shortages by recruiting sponsors and donors (friends)
- Taking over (part of) the own contribution from guests who cannot wear it
- Contribute to an optimal care and work climate in City Hospice Utrecht
- Increasing the visibility of the City Hospice by organizing activities
- Anchoring the City Hospice in the city of Utrecht by entering into partnerships and relationships
Board composition:
- The board consists of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 people
- Directors have a position or knowledge/qualities that benefit the performance of the work of Stadshospice Utrecht
- The director of Stadshospice Utrecht is an advisory part of the board
- 1 director will be appointed from the board of Stadshospice Utrecht
- There are 3 functions to fulfill: chairman, secretary and treasurer.
- Directors are appointed for a period of 4 years. This can be extended once for 4 years.
- There is a rotation schedule, in which there is an annual 1 (1/3) vacancy occurs
- The directors do not receive any compensation for their activities
Desired competences/ experience/ network:
· Administrative experience is a plus
Network in the city in Utrecht, e.g. shopkeepers' association, service club, municipality/politics of Utrecht, etc
Careful, team player
· Enterprising, creative, hands on
Availability of 16 hours per month (can be used alternately)
A draft annual plan for the Friends' Foundation is being drawn up, so that the new directors can make an active start.
Statutes are recorded and can be requested.

About Stadshospice Utrecht
Stadshospice Utrecht has room for six seriously ill people with a life expectancy of less than three months. Our volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They support our guests and their loved ones in the daily care as you would at home. The general practitioner is responsible for medical care and there is a nurse in the house every day.
In order to guarantee the homely atmosphere in the hospice as much as possible, volunteers have been chosen who take on the household tasks as well as care and accompanying tasks. “Being there” is the basis. No medical knowledge is required to do this work. A big heart and respect for our guests and the process they go through. Volunteers are supported by the coordinators and receive training.
We ask volunteers to be available on a weekly basis, of which at least one night every four weeks.
At the moment we have a shortage of volunteers who can do night shifts. If you're only available at night, we'd love to hear from you too!
