Desk employee (M/F) with a heart for animals

As a desk employee, you are the first face that visitors to our shelter see. If customer-friendliness, hospitality, multitasking and keeping an overview are your strong points, then we are looking for you!

What are you going to do?

• Receive visitors.
• Registration and deregistration of found animals.
• Keeping the asylum register.
• Drafting contracts.
• Provide information about animals present.
• Light household chores.
• Putting guests in contact with day captain/deputy day captain if necessary.

The services

Our desk is managed from Monday to Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, with a possible extension due to crowds. You work at least one fixed morning per week and are sometimes asked to fill in during illness or vacation. We are open to the public on Thursday evenings from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, so once every few weeks you will have to work an evening shift. We are currently looking for someone for Monday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings.

What do you need?

Do you have a big heart for animals and are you available for a few hours a week and are you an expert at multitasking? Top! Because those are exactly the skills you need.

In addition:

• love and patience for animals;
• command of the Dutch language in word and writing;
• some computer experience;
• social skills.

Did you know that everyone with us is a volunteer? It is therefore important to know that you are not paid in money, but in lots of love from our animals. Finally, you will be well supervised and familiarized, and you will have the opportunity to follow workshops and courses.

Working at our foundation is not only fun and educational, but also challenging and rewarding. You come into contact with different animals and people, in different situations. Animals are of course central to us, but you often really make a difference for both animals and people, and that's what we've all been doing for 40 years!
