Student coordinator (m/f/x)

Volunteer position for anyone aged 18 to 27.

Location: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht or The Hague

Start date: November 1

Duration: 6 months - 8 to 10 hours per week (flexible to schedule)

Do you want to develop your leadership, coaching and recruitment skills? And do you want to contribute to a more social and inclusive world at the same time? As a student coordinator (“stuco”) at the senior&student foundation, you are the point of contact for student volunteers who provide social care to seniors.

What does the senior&student foundation do?

At the senior&student foundation, everything revolves around 'social care'. Within our community, we connect students with seniors for help and companionship. The aim is for students to help seniors increase their self-reliance and reduce loneliness. We have already brought together more than 1000 couples. Since Corona, the fight against loneliness has only become more important. We therefore want to connect even more seniors and students and we can use your help!

What is a stucco?

As a stuco (student coordinator) you are the supervisor of student volunteers in your city. You coach students who are linked to a senior in achieving their goals and you organize fun and educational events. You are also involved in recruiting and selecting new students and seniors, so that we can make even more matches. In addition, you have intensive contact with the senior & student foundation team. You are the bridge between headquarters and the local student community.

What are you going to do?

- Recruit students and seniors in your city;

- Conduct welcome interviews with students who want to work as a volunteer;

- Coach and guide the students from your team in their volunteering process and offer help with questions;

- Organize group outings/drinks/events for volunteers and couples from your region;

- Administrative tasks, keeping an overview, planning and coordination.

Do you have to be able to do all this already?

Absolutely not! This is precisely the opportunity to further develop yourself in these areas. You follow an intensive learning trajectory and you are guided by a team of professionals. This way you work for a good cause and strengthen your skills at the same time. So good for the world, yourself and your resume :)

What are we asking you?

- Availability of six months and a minimum of 8 hours per week;

- You are social, communicative and you like personal contact;

- You are studying and/or are between 18 and 27 years old;

- You live in (near) Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam or Utrecht;

- You are proactive, have a great sense of responsibility and want to help with the mission of the senior&student foundation;

- You want to grow personally in the field of coaching, recruitment and selection, community building and team activities;

- Experience as a volunteer at the senior&student foundation or with one of our projects is an advantage, but not a requirement.
