From spring 2020, the activities of the Stadswijngaard Utrecht foundation have gained momentum.

The first Utrecht wine is in the pipeline.

We want to expand the communication to the volunteers with an activity schedule on our website.

In addition, there is an ongoing task to keep the content of the website up to date.

About Stichting Stadswijngaard Utrecht

Stadswijngaard Utrecht Foundation is a foundation founded by three wine lovers. We think that Utrecht lacks a beautiful vineyard in the city because we believe that wine is a beautiful and interesting product, which you cannot know enough about. That is why we want to realize this in the city so that we can tell, learn and show as many people as possible about this. In many cities there is already a city vineyard that we would like to take as an example. The climate makes it increasingly possible to plant grapes more and more to the north in the Netherlands, so we see a lot of potential in this. We try to develop as much as possible and as broad support as possible for the city vineyard so that as many people as possible can enjoy the city vineyard with us.

We want to develop many fun activities for / on / or near the city vineyard. Think of: volunteering, working with the elderly, educational parts, deploying at a distance from the labor market, deploying people with care needs, organizing events, insofar as they are linked to activities on the vineyard. By keeping this very accessible, there is something for everyone to do.

At the beginning of May we are going to plant the first 500 vines at two locations. We are looking for a number of volunteers for the planting and regular maintenance of the vineyard.
