SummaryDo you enjoy interacting with different people and cultures? Making small talk, and helping people? Then this position is really something for you!
The Ubuntu House is open all day on Mondays and Tuesdays. About 25-30 people come from various African countries, some of whom speak English, French or Arabic. Also people who as Dutch people know poverty or homelessness come to us, often as one of the few places where they feel at home.
We could really use people who:
- want to play games;
- Practice speaking Dutch;
- Washing dishes after meals;
- Keep track of coffee and tea;
- Helping people with requests for help (calling, making an appointment);
- Offering a listening ear.
All this in an informal atmosphere, in a small organization. Other volunteers have their own experience with homelessness, poverty or life without residence status and therefore have a lot of people knowledge and life wisdom.
