Coordinator Language Mentors

What do you do as a Language Mentorship Coordinator?

As a coordinator you are the point of contact for a group of +/- 8 voluntary language mentors. You organize the coupling conversation between the mentors and the young people (pupils). From that moment on you are the first point of contact for the mentors. If they have questions about the supervision of their pupil, they will first contact you. You also organize a meeting every two months for your group of mentors, so that they can exchange experiences and learn from each other. At the end of the process, you ensure a good conclusion between the mentor and the family. As a coordinator you are the pivot in the organization. You will be supported in your work by a project leader from Taal Doet Meer. Difficult cases are always discussed together, and every month there is a work meeting, intervision and/or workshop with the youth coordinators.

What do you have at home?

You have an affinity with language and cultures and you are good at involving people. You are open and communicative, have HBO work and thinking level and organizational talent. You are eager to learn, willing to follow training courses, independent and reliable: if you give your commitment, you will stay. You are flexible within the agreements and you persevere when things go wrong. You are available about 4 hours a week (very flexible) and you know your way around the city of Utrecht.
