Vacancy Coordinator Management / Member of the Board of the Bloeyendael Foundation

The Bloeyendael Foundation, together with the municipality of Utrecht, manages the Bloeyendael Nature Park. The park of 8 hectares. is located on the east side of the city.

The management is aimed at making the park as natural as possible and further developing it, aimed at increasing biodiversity, while at the same time allowing residents and office workers to enjoy nature. The park focuses on passive, nature-oriented recreation, not on intensive, active recreation.

The management of the park is carried out by a group of volunteers, who collect and dispose of grass and leaves mowed several times a year, prune trees, remove weeds, etc., supported where necessary by municipal services.

Due to the upcoming departure of the current management coordinator, Bloeyendael is looking for a:

Our wishes

The new coordinator:

preferably has an education in, or extensive experience with, a 'green' field, such as biology, ecology, forest and nature management or garden and landscape design, and

· is willing to commit to Bloeyendael for a period of at least 3 years.

is willing and able to devote an average of 6 – 8 hours per week to this position.

The Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinating and Executive

Plans, organizes and coordinates the management work performed by the volunteers, in close collaboration with the volunteer coordinator, including:

prepares the annual maintenance program,

determines which activities must be carried out in addition to the annual programme,

· maintains contact with working groups, such as the pruning team, about work to be performed.

· Is the first point of contact for the municipality of Utrecht about new projects, pruning and felling work/replanting, major maintenance, maintenance of paths and bridges, etc.

Content

· Takes care of the preservation of the ecological principles of the Park, concerning ao. water, amphibian pools, flowery meadows, wild fields, botanical garden, trees and forest edges.

· Make proposals to improve the ecological quality of the park.

administrative

· Has a seat on the board of the Bloeyendael foundation (5 members) and takes an active part in it (10 meetings per year).

· Initiates and oversees the developments of policy and strategy regarding management, sustainability and diversification of the Park in the board.
