Summary
The Concertzender is looking for broadcast technicians who want to provide the technology for live broadcasts at our radio station for an indefinite period.Detailed description
You gain experience in a professional broadcast studio. At the Concertzender you come into contact with adventurous music and with people who have a shared passion: music.
About us:
The Concertzender is a volunteer organization based in Utrecht. Since 1982 we have been making radio programs that are distributed nationally via cable and the Internet. The Concertzender broadcasts many music genres. For example, think of:
- lots of authentic jazz, throughout all style periods;
- thematic programs with well-known and less known classical composers;
- ample attention to medieval, renaissance and baroque music;
- historical recordings;
- music from all over the world, from ethnic field recordings to global dance sounds;
- electro-acoustic, improvisational, pop and folk music.
In addition, the Concertzender is building a rich archive of its own music recordings.
Job description:
- You and the presenter are responsible for the broadcast of an evening.
- You play music from different sound carriers, ensure good timing, you pay attention to broadcast levels and improvise when something threatens to go wrong.
Profile:
- Affinity with audio technology and with classical music, jazz or world music is an advantage.
- It is very important that you can multitask well and are stress resistant.
- Getting along well with Apple OS X is an advantage.
Working hours:
The live broadcasts take place on working days in the evenings from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM and on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM from our Utrecht location.
- Concertzender employees work on a voluntary basis.
Intake procedure:
First an intake interview with us in the studio, then you will be trained until you can independently carry the technique of the live broadcasts. If you live in Utrecht, this is useful but not a 'must' .
