Sleep guard wanted for De Weerdsingel; shelter for undocumented migrants in Utre

Do you want to work for vulnerable people who do not (yet) have a residence permit? Are you sociable, are you confident and are you looking for volunteer work in the evening? Then the volunteer position as an evening volunteer at our shelter for undocumented immigrants is probably something for you!

This is what you're going to do

You work sleeping shifts from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. You sleep in a work/bedroom and can use the shower. You work independently and can always reach someone by phone in an emergency.

It doesn't happen often, but if something is in need of assistance, you can be woken up at night by a resident. You are then the first and only point of contact. it up to you then to ensure that things become calm again or will be organized.

What are you bringing with you?

You are empathetic and have an affinity with working with vulnerable people. You are communicative and can make contact with people from diverse backgrounds. Multilingualism (Arabic, English, French, Spanish, etc.) is an advantage. You are also able to address people about their behavior in a clear and respectful manner. You can handle and redirect conflict situations through dialogue and de-escalation. You are willing to be trained through our range of training courses, such as dealing with aggression.

Further you are

• At least 18 years old.

• Available at least twice a month.

About the Intermediate Facility
