Everyone needs company and personal contact. A nice chat, a listening ear, shopping together or a visit to the theater, a day trip to a museum or zoo. This is not self-evident for people with a physical disability. They are alone more often than they would like and thus become (possibly) socially isolated. De Zonnebloem is committed to this target group, from young to old.
We are looking for visiting volunteers (m / f) for an average of 1.5 hours per 2 to 3 weeks.
As a visit volunteer you will be linked to a participant to visit on average once every 2 to 3 weeks for a cup of coffee, a walk, a tour of the shopping center, or another joint activity. The link between you as a volunteer and a participant is based on personality and mutual interests, so that there is a good 'match'. By sincere 1-on-1 attention you make the life of your participant a little more beautiful and more valuable. That gives you energy and satisfaction as a volunteer!

Our volunteers in Utrecht organize various activities such as a high-tea / picnic, a day trip to a museum - but also creative things such as a cooking workshop. Naturally matching the interests of our participants. This year we are also organizing a holiday where a number of participants are guests in an accommodation on the edge of the Veluwe. But our volunteers are just as happy to go into town with you or drop by for a cup of coffee and a relaxed conversation at your home. Whatever you would like to do: at the Zonnebloem in Utrecht, with almost 90 volunteers, we do everything we can to make this possible.
