About Holland Opera

Holland Opera is also Europe’s first independent youth opera company. It functions as a pioneer for the genre, both nationally and internationally. Opera houses throughout Europe (Germany, Denmark and others) program youth opera productions of Holland Opera annually.
We are convinced that music is the universal language through which children and adults are stimulated to watch, listen and communicate. Therefore, we want to start live dialogues, in a world where most interactions and conversations happen digitally. This is how we reach our audience’s souls, through music that moves, enchants, and surprises.
In our opera’s, we use language in a poetic way, we compress it and get to its core. Our music tells its own separate story in different musical idioms, which layers the structure of our productions. We make opera’s that are accessible and topical, and that shed light on current social theme’s to which our (young) audience can relate.
