About Stichting Fairtrade Gemeente Nederland

The Fairtrade Municipality campaign aims to increase the demand for and supply of fair trade products. In this way we ensure better living and working conditions for farmers and producers in developing countries.
The campaign stimulates this by rewarding entrepreneurs, employees, buyers and consumers with positive attention and publicity for their choice for fair trade. The volunteers in the local core teams motivate, inspire and organize a range of activities from themed meetings, debates, tastings to providing information in schools to argue for fair trade among citizens, companies and public administration. More than 700 volunteers are active in the campaign, spread across the Netherlands.
