Summary
At the consultation hour you receive 50 refugees, you provide their weekly living allowance and you have a chat. You work in a team of 2 volunteers.Detailed description
There is a fixed time every week that our residents come to the office to collect living money. With this money they can provide for their livelihood and, for example, do shopping. You can also contact us during office hours if you have any questions or problems. As a consultation hour employee you therefore have an important signaling function. You always work in a team of 2 volunteers. As a result of the consultation, you set up practical action points – you process these in our administrative system.
We ask: You are available once every 2/3 weeks on Tuesday morning from 9 to 12. You are socially skilled, can easily make contact and also handy with administration. You can work with a computer (Word). Affinity with the target group is a plus.
When you start working for us, you become part of a fun and motivated team of volunteers and permanent employees!

The Emergency Shelter for Homeless Aliens Utrecht (SNDVU) is an aid organization that offers bed, bath, bread and social-legal guidance to rejected asylum seekers. Spread over 21 houses, we receive about a hundred people who have been told that they are no longer allowed to stay in the Netherlands, but have not returned to their country of origin for various reasons. We work with them on a future that offers perspective, among other things by assisting them in social and legal terms.
Given the uncertain situation in which our residents find themselves, it is important to prevent them from becoming inactive and becoming socially isolated. We try to stimulate the participation of our clients with the help of language buddies, buddies and other volunteers.
We are a small team consisting of a number of permanent employees and a number of volunteers.
