Summary
An administrative challenge in Utrecht at the intersection of politics, nature, the environment and animal protectionDetailed description
Looking for a volunteer position with content, in which you can really contribute to animal welfare locally? Become a board member of the Utrecht Bird Shelter Foundation!
In a small location on the Rotsoord in Utrecht, 55 enthusiastic volunteers and a paid administrator work with man and power to capture wild native wild birds that are not in danger of making it and prepare them again for release into the wild. This is a huge job, especially in the spring and summer, so it is important that “the organization is in order”.
The organization behind the bird shelter is the Utrecht bird shelter foundation. At the moment the foundation has a board of three people, but we urgently need new board members. You will be part of a small, enthusiastic board that has been in office for a year and a half. You contribute to the social function of a bird sanctuary and you can use your time, enthusiasm and knowledge for the benefit of bird (welfare). The result is many grateful birds (and caretakers) inside and outside the shelter.
What are we looking for in you?
A proven, communicative personality, focused on collaboration and achieving results within very different networks. The presence of these qualities is also apparent from your work experience. Preferably you have experience with board work within an association or social institution. Affinity with animals in general and with birds in particular is a plus.
The board currently consists of 3 persons, namely a chairman, secretary and treasurer. In view of the developments in the field of wildlife sanctuary and animal welfare policy, we are looking to expand our board with at least two members.
What you will do within the board and how tasks are divided will depend on your expertise and what presents itself in our field. Areas of special interest are:
- Finance
- Legal
- Politics
- HR and volunteers
The board meets on average once a month.
Have you become enthusiastic and want more information? Please contact Mr Jaap van Dijk, Chairman of the Board. If you want to express your interest immediately, send your letter via the pink button below.
