About Vechtstreekmuseum

The Vechtstreekmuseum is located in the Goudestein park on the Vecht in Maarssen. It is located in the former Silverstein country estate, which after the renovation served as a coach house for Goudestein.

The museum focuses on the culture, history and art of the entire Vecht region. The permanent collection in particular pays a lot of attention to the historic buildings and tea domes, with a special room for the Huydecoper family, who built the original country estate.

Every year there are special exhibitions and guided tours are provided both inside and outside the museum. There are also various films that give a good picture of various highlights and sights in the Vecht region.

Our objective is the management and preservation of the heritage related to the Vecht region from Oud Zuilen to Nigtevecht
