The mission of the Leergaloos foundation is to connect generations. We do this by linking people over 55 as volunteers to a primary school for a few hours a week.
Our aim is to make an optimal match between what the volunteer has an affinity with and what the school needs.
We are looking for volunteers for various primary schools in Utrecht who enjoy working with the youngest children in primary school (groups 1 and 2).
Reading, playing games, crafts, supporting beginning readers: no day is the same!

The volunteer provides structural support to the teacher. The school offers the senior a fun and meaningful volunteer position. The senior does not teach: he or she helps in the classroom. The teacher indicates what kind of support he or she is looking for. The senior also indicates what kind of activity he or she wants to help with. This varies from reading to helping with crafts or in the vegetable garden. Leergaloos makes an inventory and makes the right match.
