Summary
Managing our emergency number: from home (6 hours a week)Detailed description
From a swan on the track and a cornered cat to a deer in the water and a dog that has lost its owner. Every day in Woerden and the surrounding area there are animals in need that need our help. But how do we know that an animal is in distress? And how do we ensure that our animal ambulance goes to the right location? That's where our operators play an important role. And they are looking for you!
What are you going to do?
Our telephonists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and on public holidays to answer people who call our central emergency number. No notification is the same, and each type of notification requires a different action. With each report, you ensure that you have as complete a picture as possible of the situation, note all data and determine what action is needed. Can you answer the question whether the reporter and the animal are already helping remotely? Then you handle the report yourself. Is on-site assistance needed? Then you call in our animal ambulance (and sometimes other parties as well) and ensure that the colleague knows exactly where he or she has to go.
How exactly does our telephone service work?
At the telephone service we work with a fixed schedule. You work at least 6 hours a week, this can be with one shift of 6 hours or two shifts of 3 hours each. Do you always have to drive to our shelter? Certainly not. You work from home. In the meantime, you can simply read the newspaper with a cup of coffee, do some laundry or enjoy the sun in the garden. As long as you are easily accessible. Ideal, isn't it?
A 6-hour shift is from: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A 3-hour shift is from: 07:00 – 10:00, 10:00 – 13:00, 13:00 – 16:00 or 16:00 – 19:00. We are now looking for colleagues for Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
What do you need?
Do you have a big heart for animals, a few hours a week off and are you an expert at multitasking? Do you keep a cool head in a difficult situation and do you keep the overview? Top! Because those are exactly the skills you need. In addition:
- Do you have an internet connection, your own computer and some experience with computers,
- do you speak and write good Dutch,
- and you are available at least 6 hours a week.
This is what you get in return
First of all, of course, a lot of appreciation and gratitude. In addition, you work in a team with great colleagues who are happy to help you, within an enthusiastic volunteer organization. Did you know that everyone with us is a volunteer? It is therefore important to know that you are not paid in money, but in lots of love from our animals. Finally, you will be well supervised and familiarized, and you will have the opportunity to follow workshops and courses.
Enthusiastic?
Nice! Fill in our contact form and we will contact you for a personal introduction and a tour of our shelter. Do you want to watch a day first? That is also possible. We are happy to show you all the ins & outs of our work as a telephone operator with a 'sniffing service'.
